We’re Back!

Happy New Year everyone! Or should I say ‘Feliz Año Nuevo’!

I’m not sure where to even start - we had an amazing time in Cozumel - it was just what I wanted. A nice, quiet (not too touristy) location, which was still full of the ‘real’ Mexico and Mexican culture.

We stayed at the El Cozumeleno beach resort, which is on the North of the Island. It was about a $7 taxi ride into the main (well, the only) town of San Miguel. It was a wonderful resort - very traditional and compact - not spread out over acres and acres like most of the new ones. With two young girls women, I wanted a resort where I could keep a good eye on them.

Speaking of the girls, here they are on the ferry ride from Playa Del Carmen to Cozumel: (they like their pictures taken about as well as their Mother!)

The snorkeling was fantastic right off the beach at the resort, especially alongside the long pier in the above picture.

I think I’ll have to cover our vacation in bits and pieces - there’s just too much for one post! For now, I still have a mountain of laundry to do and regular life stuff to catch up on. Please forgive me if I do not get to visit my favourite blogs right away - I will do my best! :-)
