Outdoor bed for Mattie

I finally broke down and ordered a raised outdoor dog bed for Mr. Mattie. It’s called a Kuranda bed - they use them a lot in kennels as they’re very durable and easy to clean. Of course, I had to order the XXL as the 85lb one just wasn’t going to cut it for a Great Dane!
One thing we learned on this past weekend’s camping trip was that Mattie doesn’t like to lay down in dirt. This way he can still be outside in the campsite with us, and have a place to sleep too!
(It must be a hormonal thing (low progesterone or estrogen or something), because it seems the older the girls get (and the less they need us), the more we’ve reverted to babying the dog!)

Our dog just lays in the dirt. We take her to the groom and she comes home and finds the nastiest spot to lay in. What’s up with that? Have a great weekend.
