The poor t’ings! I hope dey remember ta wear der rain jackets ‘n boots! An’ me be sunnin’ my big batty on da beach mon!

The babysitter/dogsitter is all set, the rules/info/emergency list is written and the usual research on what to do/what to see/and how to do it, has been done. All that’s left is a hair appointment and a pedicure.

Oh, and the Mountie needs a little ~ahem~ work done before he hits the beach.

When we went to Mexico this past Christmas ‘I’ had the pleasure of performing this (excruciating, but satisfying) task. I must be getting soft in my old age, as I have no desire to do it again. (No matter how much he screamed, and how much the girls rolled with laughter!)

He has an appointment for Thursday at the spa - coincidentally (of course - wink, wink) the same time I’ll be getting my hair foiled and my toes prettied. The girl who does this sort of torture is also a masseuse (so I’m guessing has gone to massage therapy schools), and giggled through our entire phone conversation while I asked if it was ok for me to be in the room with him…. and to take pictures and/or a video!

She was a peach and scheduled the Mountie a half an hour into my foils - that way I’ll be in processing mode and can head into her torture chamber……. camera in hand

I put my hummingbird feeder up today, and about 20 minutes later I went outside and was greeted by a full fledged war! Man - those little things are cute, but nasty!

The bully is actually the least colourful of the bunch - maybe he’s got a complex? There are four little spouts - enough for everyone - can’t we all just get along?

Apparently not. This little guy was reduced to sitting on the clothesline in hopes he’d eventually get a turn. The poor little doodle

We don’t have the pre-mixed nectar available in our little town, so I just made my own. From what I’ve heard, you have to be careful about the mixture as to not damage their little livers.

To mix your own sugar syrup for hummingbird feeders, you should have a ratio of one part white sugar to four parts water. And if the little buggers don’t have it empty every time you turn around, make sure and give it a good rinse out twice a week (don’t use soap though) and add new sugar syrup.

It’s called Mag My Pic, and it’s fun to play around with. I really should be doing something more constructive tonight like chores, organizing my filing or putting my yoga dvd on and doing some exercising. But really - where’s the fun in that?

The last one is a shot I took from the ski hill last month (BC logging at it’s finest) - looks pretty authentic eh? The girls like using the pics as avatars on msn and Facebook.

Am I the only one who is just now discovering this?

I’m talking about the fact that if any of my friends comment on a photo (or video) belonging to one of their friends, more often than not, I’m able to view that photo too. And not just that one photo - the entire album that photo is in!

And no, I have no idea who is in either of these photos. Like I said, friends of a friend of a friend!

The best part of the awards were the little guys. At that age every player gets something, (of course nothing fancy like a Rolex ) but they were over the moon to receive their little trophies, which were also piggy banks! Anyhoo, we got our team pictures back, and might I just say that I think I have the two most beautiful hockey players around!

Sometimes I look at my girls and can’t believe they are the same two that I’m sure were just babies yesterday!

So now we say goodbye to hockey and hello to soccer!

Look at that skin! She’s almost 13 and not a blemish in sight! Hopefully she’ll never have to worry about what is the best acne treatment for her!

I work for a business consultant who works mainly with large design/marketing/branding firms. I’m quite sure he doesn’t advise his clients to pack up and move their offices once a week. So why am I changing my site’s theme 4 times a day?

Well, for now, this one is to get me in the mood for our upcoming trip to Jamaica. Heck - maybe if you wear cheap glasses you might not even notice the difference! Ha!

The Mountie got home yesterday, and with him he brought RockBand for PS2/PS3. I don’t think either of the girls have come up for air since!

I have to admit, it is pretty darn cool. (and extremely amusing to see my girls rocking out to Bon Jovi, Metallica, etc.) It’s similar to Guitar Hero, (I’m guessing) but comes with a set of drums, and a microphone. You can also get the base guitar to complete your rock band!

The drums are the best - and the most fun to watch!

The singing part is pretty neat as well - the words are on the top of the screen, but you also need to sign in the right key and pitch. The Mountie is impressively good at playing the lead singer.

Anyway, it’s sure nice to have him home again. Even though he came home with a mountain of dirty laundry, he made up for it by making a delicious supper tonight! It’s nice to have an adult around the house to talk to again too. Instead of make-up, homework, hair and BFF’s, I can talk about such exciting things as doing our taxes, medicare part d, the joys of being a landlord and where on earth he’s supposed to sleep since his side of the bed is occupied!
