Day 1: The Wedding

The ceremony was at 11am, which is 9am my time. Which meant I had to get up around 8, which is 6am my time. (I am not a morning person, so need to consume the required amount of caffeine before I can get moving.) Of course I made up for that early morning by sleeping until TWO IN THE AFTERNOON the next day!
Now, I took a lot of pictures of the wedding, but I know the groom would have a stroke if he knew I’d posted pictures of him or the bride on the internet, so I’ll try to post the ones that aren’t all that identifiable.
Here’s the groom ordering up some courage before the ceremony.
And here he goes, off to await his bride.
It must have been about 35′ in the shade that morning. We all hung around that tree as long as we could!
You may now kiss the bride!
I wish I could show some better pictures. Katie (the bride) was gorgeous, as was her dress. Chris (the groom) took his serge off as soon as his could, but Katie wore her wedding dress all day. She looked fantastic as she had lost quite a bit of weight for the wedding - of course she did it the old fashioned way with diet and exercise. (I’m pretty sure I would have opted for diet pills!
)
These two lived in Ahousaht with us for two years, so we all became pretty close during that time. It was sure nice to be able to see Chris finally make an honest woman out of her!! (hehehe)

OMG-I love the idea of a wedding on the beach, but that’s about it…the IDEA. I’d be so cranky and bitchy b/c I was hot and sweaty that the guy would run away before the I do’!!!
I’m glad you’re back!
If I were to have a ceremony on the beach, it would be a sundress and bare feet for me and shorts and a Hawaiian shirt for him. Oh, and let’s not forget the very big hats!
